About Me
The narrative arc of my career: first a writer and editor, then a digital marketer, but always a storyteller. That’s my happy place. I love to create content and messages that win hearts and minds, and move people to action.
My work experience reflects my curiosity for new ideas and my passion for tech innovation and sustainability. I’m forward-focused. There’s no shortage of challenges to solve, so let’s get to work.
When I’m not working, though, I like to keep things as un-serious as possible: enjoying a laugh with my wife and two daughters, or exploring the outdoors by bike. I’m a big-time dog lover. I grew up in Pennsylvania but the western states called to me, and I’ve made the Bay Area home for 25 years.
My Approach
Marketing today is harder than it’s ever been. There’s just too much noise out there, too many lousy stories and irrelevant messages to compete with. How to break through? By staying resolutely focused on your audience needs; by finding authentic ways to help them and creative ways to engage them. And then, of course, being OK with failure, because it takes a lot of experimentation and persistence to get it right.
As a marketer, I love to build strategies and roadmaps that keep teams focused on the business and marketing goals that matter. How do we win? How does that story unfold? I start by listening and learning. I’m a slow thinker but a fast doer. I love leading small teams and collaborating with smart people to solve problems and get results.
